CAPLAW 2026 National Training Conference
Keith Hundley will present two sessions at the CAPLAW 2026 National Training Conference from June 2–3, 2026.
Session 1: "Finance & Friends: The Relationship Between Finance and Program Managers" – A lack of understanding between finance and program departments can hinder effectiveness and efficiency and pose potential problems for an organization. This workshop aims to increase understanding between finance and program staff eager to break down barriers and build better bonds that can enhance the work of the CAA.
Session 2: "It's Coming From Inside the House: Detecting and Deterring Occupational Fraud" – This session will examine occupational fraud in detail to help your CAA implement effective controls to guard against employee and insider fraud. You will learn about recent trends, common schemes, and warning signs. This session will also feature real-world case studies and explain the consequences of occupational fraud. Walk away with actionable insights to better detect, prevent, and respond to internal fraud, helping safeguard your agency from within.
Federal Grants Institute
Keith Hundley will be presenting two 90-minute sessions on April 7, 2026, at the Federal Grants Institute.
Session 1: 10:15 am to 11:45 a.m. - Implementing Effective Internal Controls - This session will explore the elements of a robust internal control environment aligned with the Uniform Guidance’s five components of internal control. Attendees will learn about the essential framework and strategies needed to reinforce compliance and prevent fraud, as well as common control activities, their strengths, and their weaknesses.
Session 2: 1:00 pm to 2:30 p.m. - Single Audit* Readiness in 2026. In this session, Keith will explain current requirements under the Single Audit Act, the OMB's Uniform Guidance, and the annual Compliance Supplement, as well as best practices for audit preparation.
Annual Grants Management Update
On December 11, 2025, Keith Hundley served as an external speaker at the Annual Grants Management Update hosted by Federal Grants Training. Held at the Embassy Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista South, the event brought together grants management professionals across the government and nonprofit sectors.
Keith delivered a session titled “Maximizing Indirect Cost Recovery,” offering practical guidance and strategic insights for CEOs, CFOs, fiscal teams, programmatic leaders, and others involved in grants administration. Captive Now
On September 30, 2025, Scott appeared on the podcast Captive Now, hosted by the North Carolina Captive Insurance Association (NCCIA). He spoke with Ron Adams, immediate past chair of the NCCIA, sharing insights on the captive insurance industry from a CPA’s perspective. The episode targeted captive industry participants, organizations with $30 million or more in revenue, and senior executives, including CFOs and chief risk officers. The podcast is publicly available and offers valuable perspectives for professionals in the insurance sector.
CFMA Southeastern Construction Conference 2025
On August 21, 2025, CRI’s Jeff Silver and Jeff Hawkins presented at the CFMA Southeastern Construction Conference in Chattanooga. Their session focused on the due diligence process, the importance of a Quality of Earnings report, and how working capital can affect the sale of a business.
