QuickBooks Desktop has a significant change approaching that requires all existing Desktop users to upgrade to their annual subscription model prior to September 30, 2024.  QuickBooks has been informing customers of its upcoming transition. This required change will significantly impact existing users of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, Mac, and Enterprise Solutions v21. Versions from 2021 and earlier, which were sold under a non-subscription, one-time license that expired after three years, will be discontinued entirely.  As a result, these versions will no longer receive updates or support.

Starting October 1, 2024, QuickBooks Enterprise will be the only Desktop version available for new purchases. Therefore, users of older Desktop versions must upgrade to the subscription model before the September 30th deadline. Failure to upgrade will result in the discontinuation of services like QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, Payments, Online Backup, and online banking,  system updates, security patches, and live support.  This could potentially disrupt your business operations. To ensure continuity in your business operations, we strongly advise you to begin planning your upgrade immediately.

Additionally, Intuit strongly encourages existing Desktop subscribers to upgrade to the current version of the software (Desktop 2024) to take full advantage of the latest features, improvements, security updates, bug fixes, etc.  Note that there is no additional cost for existing subscribers to download the latest version of Desktop from Intuit’s Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs) website.
